Chapter 76 Bayonets
Chapter 76 Bayonets
"Bang!"
With a muffled thud, the toe of Li Wei's military boot with its steel lining pierced the assassin's back.
The assassin immediately tumbled and fell like a rolling gourd.
As he crashed into the wall, regained his balance, and prepared to raise his gun to aim, a dark gun muzzle was already pointed at his forehead.
"Do you think I pull the trigger faster, or you aim and pull the trigger faster?"
Assassin: "..."
The assassin fell silent, and Li Wei didn't ask any more questions. He simply started groping the assassin's body.
He quickly emptied the assassin's pockets.
Two spare magazines, one medicine box, and one roll of steel wire.
There was nothing that could prove their identity.
The assassin curled the corners of his mouth slightly, looking somewhat smug.
Li Wei smashed the butt of his rifle into the assassin's face, not only swelling the assassin's eye socket but also leaving him completely bewildered.
This was the first time he had ever encountered someone who attacked without asking any questions.
But Li Wei's words only made him more confused.
"Hey buddy! Get professional! Do you know what it means to keep your emotions in check?"
After saying that, Li Wei started to strip him naked.
"Hey! What are you doing!"
The assassin panicked.
Li Wei pulled the trigger directly.
"Bang!
A gunshot rang out, and the assassin's hand was pierced, hanging limply.
But this guy was quite stubborn and didn't utter a sound, nor did he continue to resist.
Li Wei grabbed the other man's collar with one hand and exerted force.
"Sizzle!"
The black cotton T-shirt was suddenly ripped open, revealing well-developed muscles.
There are no specific tattoos on the torso...
Li Wei reached out to tug at his sleeve.
Just as his hand was halfway out, the other person's hand, which had been punched through, suddenly clenched into a fist and slammed it towards Li Wei's groin.
The speed was so rapid that there was no sign of weakness or pain whatsoever.
Li Wei remained calm despite the shock, and instead of dodging backward, he used his knee to push forward.
Just as the still-dripping fist passed through Li Wei's crotch, Li Wei used his entire body and the force of his movement to slam himself onto the assassin.
Li Wei straddled the assassin, simultaneously releasing his gun, grabbing the assassin's neck with both hands, and pushing off with his feet.
The assassin was immediately thrown off the ground and rolled by Li Wei, having no time to change his move.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Li Wei used an extremely difficult tactical maneuver during a roll to execute a rear-naked choke on the assassin.
One leg controls the killer's hands, while the other controls his legs. The double-headed motion, like a combined hydraulic clamp, tightly constricts the killer's neck.
"You little brat, trying to play dirty tricks on me, launching a sneak attack, huh!"
Li Wei was so angry that he even swore in Chinese.
However, he didn't forget to continue investigating the assassin's identity.
After the assassin passed out from suffocation, Li Wei finally freed one hand and completely ripped off the assassin's black T-shirt.
Li Wei finally found something that could prove the other party's identity.
The assassin had a bayonet tattoo on his left upper arm, along with a row of numbers.
It starts with "1" and ends with "29".
While maintaining control, Li Wei took out his phone and called Thomas.
Thomas answered almost instantly.
"Li Wei! How are you?!"
Thomas's anxious voice came through, but Levi did not respond to his concern.
"It's Mossad's 'bayonet'."
"Israel?"
Thomas's voice was filled with astonishment.
After confirming that the assassin had completely lost consciousness, Li Wei released his grip and stood up with a flip.
"A question suddenly occurred to me. Khadgar, as the CIA director, was able to command Mossad...was he a traitor?"
"On what grounds?"
Thomas's voice came from the phone.
But judging from the helpless tone in Thomas's voice, Li Wei knew that Thomas wasn't still angry or speaking up for Khadgar, but rather stating a crucial fact.
They currently lack concrete evidence.
Because Gregory is dead.
Although Levi captured the assassin himself, they could no longer extract any firsthand information or get Gregory to testify.
As for this assassin, he was clearly professionally trained; he wasn't the kind of person you could get anything out of him by beating him up or scaring him.
but……
"We should at least give it a try."
Li Wei refused to give up.
"Thomas, where are you now?"
"I didn't dare to move around and stayed in Gregory's apartment room."
"Wait for me to come find you."
Just as Li Wei finished speaking, a police siren suddenly sounded.
Li Wei immediately ran out of the stairwell and stood on the rooftop looking down.
On the street, at least three police cars with their sirens blaring were converging on Gregory's apartment building.
"Damn it! We've fallen for their trap!"
"Thomas! Get out of the room! If you're trapped inside now, things will get complicated!"
Li Wei called out anxiously, while Thomas responded breathlessly from the other end.
"They're already...they're already running!"
But this did not put Li Wei at ease.
Although Thomas is intelligent, he has not received any training in this area, and it is unlikely that he can escape on his own.
Then, he couldn't help but glance back at the still unconscious killer... Should he give up on this lead?
Li Wei's hand gradually tightened its grip, causing the phone to make a creaking sound as it struggled to bear the weight.
Screw it! I'll still be greedy even if it's risky!
Who says you have to choose one of the two!
"Thomas! Don't rush out! Find a place to hide inside the apartment building first! Leave when things get chaotic outside!"
"What's causing this chaos?"
Thomas didn't immediately understand what Levi meant.
But then, thinking about Li Wei's style of doing things, he roughly guessed Li Wei's plan.
"Li Wei! Don't do anything rash!"
However, Li Wei had already hung up the phone.
The next moment, he ran back to the stairwell, picked up the assassin, and ran downstairs.
He arrived at the elevator very quickly.
He pressed the down button with the muzzle of his gun, and while waiting for the elevator to come up, he put two of the four magazines in his hand into his waistband and one into each of his outer thigh pockets.
Just as he finished tidying up, the elevator doors opened.
"Thump!"
With a muffled thud, the cleaning staff inside the elevator dropped the bucket and mop they were holding and obediently raised their hands above their heads.
Li Wei was in a hurry, so he didn't explain much. He just carried the assassin inside and asked a question politely.
"Which floor?"
The cleaner shuddered.
"I...I came here to...clean...clean the stairwell."
The cleaner spoke haltingly.
At this moment, the elevator doors were about to close.
Li Wei immediately raised the gun in his hand.
"Don't kill me!"
The cleaner was so frightened that she fell to her knees with a "plop".
Li Wei used the gun in his hand to block the closing elevator door.
After being shot, the elevator door opened again.
"Weren't you supposed to be cleaning the stairwell? Go downstairs."
Li Wei was already losing patience and urging him on, while the cleaner stood there dumbfounded, seemingly not expecting Li Wei to "let him go" so easily.
Li Wei had completely lost his patience.
"Please get off! I'm in a hurry!"
However, Li Wei remained polite and did not do anything rash, only urging him verbally.
The cleaning staff then realized what was happening and scrambled out of the elevator.
Speechless, Li Wei carried the bucket and mop out of the elevator and pressed the button to close the elevator door again.
