Chapter 347 The First Day at Work: Starting with an Employee Handbook
"What are your plans next?"
Ban spoke again, his question getting straight to the heart of the matter.
"You've even thrown Hashirama here. Does this mean the village is about to embark on a much larger operation?"
Madara's insight was as sharp as a razor's edge; he never believed that Hiruzen would make any meaningless plans.
Hiruzen Sarutobi stopped in his tracks, facing Madara face to face, his gaze calm.
"That's right." Hiruzen's answer was crisp and clear.
"Soon, Konoha will enter the next phase of comprehensive development."
His voice contained a profound confidence, as if he had already foreseen the grand blueprint that was about to unfold.
Madara slightly turned his body, his gaze once again looking into the distance, beyond layers of trees, seemingly reaching the Hokage Building in the center of Konoha Village, before turning back towards the farm.
"The next phase of construction?" he repeated softly, as if chewing on the concept and pondering its deeper meaning.
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded slightly, offering no further explanation. Some things don't need to be said; actions speak louder than words.
"Lord Madara, where do you intend to go now?" Hiruzen asked.
Madara withdrew his gaze, his Rinnegan looking at Hiruzen, its depths seemingly able to see through all illusions.
"I'm going to a place. A place... where I can see the whole village."
Ban's words carried an elusive mystery, making it impossible to guess his exact purpose.
Hiruzen Sarutobi didn't press the matter. He respected Madara's choice and believed that Madara had his own reasons.
"In that case, I will not disturb you any longer." Hiruzen bowed slightly.
Madara nodded slightly, his figure disappearing into the depths of the forest in an instant, like a leaf falling in the wind, leaving only a faint chakra fluctuation.
Hiruzen Sarutobi stared in the direction Madara had disappeared, and gently exhaled. A helpless yet somewhat fatalistic smile once again appeared on his lips.
"It seems... we'll need another special advisor."
He murmured softly, then resumed his steps, walking resolutely but somewhat wearily toward the Hokage Building.
On the wide Hokage Avenue, Hiruzen Sarutobi's footsteps faded into the distance, leaving only the occasional curious glances from passersby.
With the first generation taking charge of the farm, the grand blueprint for the soil ecosystem will surely be realized at an unimaginable speed.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the village, deep within the Muye Ecological Farm, the rich fragrance of earth rises under the sun.
The air was filled with the almost unreal fragrance of earth, mixed with an indescribable freshness that came from the purest life energy.
Beneath Shuomao's feet, the tender green shoots that broke through the soil remained steadfast, their root systems changing the deep structure of this land at a speed invisible to the naked eye.
A strong sense of separation lingered in Sakumo's mind.
Just minutes before, he was developing a lengthy plan, dozens of pages long, on how to expand the breeding scale of highly active earthworms. The plan was rigorous, meticulous, and full of ninja-like logic and deduction.
Now, this painstakingly crafted plan has been utterly crushed by the God of Shinobi with a "mini" version of Wood Release, and then thrown into the dust of history.
Konoha's White Fang, the assassin master who strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies on the battlefield, feels his worldview being dismantled piece by piece and then reassembled in a way he cannot comprehend.
He even had an absurd urge to draw the dagger from his back and make a mark on the ground to confirm that he wasn't in some sophisticated illusion.
"Sakumo!"
Hashirama Senju's voice interrupted his thoughts.
The First Hokage was squatting by the field with great interest, picking up a pinch of soil that had been improved by Wood Release with his fingers, smelling it under his nose, his face full of rapture.
"Hmm...it's brimming with life! It's so earthy!"
He didn't look like a legendary ninja; he looked more like an old farmer who had worked the land his whole life and was seeing his most satisfying harvest.
Just then, a steady and rhythmic sound of footsteps approached from afar.
Shuo Mao looked up and saw a burly figure walking towards him from the direction of the breeding area. The man was strong, and each step he took made a slight thud, like a gentle giant bear.
It is autumn to gather wind.
He was clearly there for an inspection, carrying a bundle of newly harvested premium hay, specially for the Konoha No. 1 dolphin, on his shoulder.
Akimichi Torifu was humming a tuneless little tune, seemingly in a rather good mood. However, when his gaze passed over Sakumo and landed on the long-haired, straight-haired man who was also squatting on the ground, studying the soil, his steps... suddenly stopped.
The singing abruptly stopped.
The relaxed ease on Akimichi Torifu's face vanished in a fraction of a second, replaced by utter astonishment. The bundle of hay in his hand fell to the ground with a thud, without him even noticing.
As a high-ranking member of Konoha, he naturally learned of the earth-shattering news of the resurrection of the two former Hokage from the Anbu immediately.
Knowing is one thing.
Seeing this god of the ninja world, who only exists in textbooks and legends, squatting on the edge of the field playing in the mud on his own farm... that's a different story altogether.
Akimichi Torifu's body tensed instantly, and he instinctively straightened up, straightening his clothes, which were somewhat disheveled from his work. His large frame now exuded the restraint of a primary school student meeting his principal.
