Chapter 3300: The storybook has been confiscated!

Sunlight streamed through the glass windows into the classroom, where students were having class. Some were listening attentively, while others were distracted or chatting amongst themselves.

Xiao Bai carefully took a light blue softcover notebook out of her schoolbag and gently placed it in her desk drawer. The cover of the notebook had the words "Chengcheng's Story Collection" neatly written in colored pencil.

This is Chengcheng's first draft, which contains twelve complete short stories. In addition to the first story, "The Little Stone That Collects Starlight," there are also "The Dandelion That Can Walk," "The Old Piano That Sings at Midnight," "The Girl with the Oil-Paper Umbrella in the Rainy Alley," and so on. Each story is accompanied by illustrations drawn by Chengcheng herself. Although they are all simple line drawings, they have a unique kind of innocent and romantic charm.

Yesterday, Chengcheng solemnly handed this notebook to Xiaobai, asking Xiaobai to give her some advice and suggestions.

Xiao Bai's eyes lit up, and he hugged the notebook like it was a treasure.

She became so engrossed in reading that she tossed and turned in bed with the book until her father came to urge her three times before she reluctantly turned off the light. This morning, before leaving home, she thought it over and decided to put the book in her schoolbag anyway. She wanted to use her break time to read it a few more times, especially the story of "The Girl with the Oil-Paper Umbrella in the Rainy Alley," which she hadn't finished yet.

The first class was math.

The math teacher was explaining word problems on the podium. Xiaobai's fingers quietly groped in her desk drawer, touching the corner of a softcover notebook. She felt a tickling sensation, like a kitten scratching at her, and her eyes kept involuntarily glancing into the drawer.

Sitting next to her, Liuliu had already noticed Xiaobai's unusual behavior. Ever since the math teacher entered the classroom, Xiaobai had seemed restless, constantly touching her drawer. This was very suspicious!

Liuliu's curiosity swelled up like a balloon. It just so happened that math class was the class she least wanted to listen to. She felt dizzy and confused throughout the class and couldn't concentrate on anything. So she spent almost the entire class watching Xiaobai's little actions.

Finally, the bell rang, signaling the end of get out of class. The math teacher had barely stepped out of the classroom when Xiaobai pulled out his notebook and eagerly opened it.

"Little White! What's that interesting you're looking at? Let me see it too!"

Liuliu rushed over like a small cannonball, her eyes shining brightly.

Xiao Bai instinctively hid the notebook in his clothes: "It's nothing! Get away, don't touch me, I'm not in a good mood today."

Liu Liu didn't care at all whether Xiao Bai was in a good mood or not. She had seen Xiao Bai at his most irritable, so why would she be afraid!

She leaned even closer, her nose almost touching Xiaobai's face: "I see it! It's a notebook! And there are drawings in it! Let me see!"

Xiao Bai protected the book: "This is Chengcheng's storybook, you can't just read it. Chengcheng said I'm the first reader."

Liu Liu was furious: "What?! You're the first reader?! I'm the first one!! You must have tricked Cheng Cheng into reading this."

Xiao Bai chuckled, "No way! Chengcheng gave it to me on her own initiative, haha. I know you're in a hurry, but don't rush."

Liu Liu took two deep breaths, swallowed her anger for the moment, and then said, "We're all Little Red Horse's good friends! I've heard so many of Cheng Cheng's stories! I even gave suggestions about the story of Little Stone! Let me see it, just for a second!"

Liu Liu put on her most pitiful expression and kept pleading. Xiao Bai finally relented: "Then you can only look at it for a little while. You have to return it to me before class."

“No problem!” Liuliu snatched the notebook, as if it were a priceless treasure.

She sat back down, opened the first page, and was immediately drawn to the neat handwriting and charming illustrations. Chengcheng's handwriting was meticulous, each stroke carefully written; the illustrations, though simple, depicted scenes from the story, such as shimmering pebbles, a girl holding an oil-paper umbrella, and a walking dandelion…

Liuliu exclaimed, "Chengcheng is really amazing!"

She was so engrossed in watching that she completely forgot about the time.

The bell rang for the second period, which was Chinese class. Xiaobai went to collect the storybooks, but Liuliu refused, saying that she had only glanced at them and hadn't finished reading the story. She insisted that Liuliu should at least let her finish the story.

Teacher Wu Mei entered the classroom and began to lead the class in reading the text.

Liuliu was still immersed in the story of "The Girl with the Oil-Paper Umbrella in the Rainy Alley".

"Liuliu, please lead the reading." Teacher Wu Mei called on her.

Liuliu was completely unaware and was still staring at the notebook, grinning foolishly.

Teacher Wu called her name again.

"Huh? Ah!" Liuliu stood up in a panic, looking completely bewildered, with no idea why Teacher Wu had called her.

Ms. Wu Mei walked over and immediately noticed the light blue notebook. She picked it up, flipped through a couple of pages, and frowned. "Reading storybooks during class?"

Liuliu hesitated for a moment and said, "Teacher, this, that, this, this..."

"Come to my office after class, and listen carefully to the lesson now."

Teacher Wu Mei took the notebook away, and Xiao Bai quickly came to Liu Liu's rescue: "Teacher, listen to Liu Liu's excuses first, no, listen to her explanation, Liu Liu, explain yourself clearly."

Xiaobai hinted to Liuliu to quickly come up with a solution, otherwise, if they really took away the storybook, how would they explain it to Chengcheng?!

Liu Liu's mind was still in a daze. Seeing this, Teacher Wu took the storybook and went up to the podium to continue the lesson.

Liu Liu sat down listlessly. She looked at Xiao Bai, who was glaring at her with a "you're doomed" look, her eyes filled with murderous intent.

Oh no, oh no, this is really the end. Liu Liu's face turned pale, and she was distracted throughout the entire Chinese class.

As soon as the bell rang, Ms. Wu packed up her things and walked out of the classroom. Liu Liu followed without saying a word, and Xiao Bai followed closely behind. The three of them were very in sync.

In the office, homeroom teacher Wu Mei returned to her seat, picked up her teacup to drink water, and casually placed the light blue notebook on her desk.

Liuliu rushed over, didn't explain, and immediately apologized sincerely, admitting her mistake: "Teacher Wu, my dear Teacher Wu, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have been reading the storybook in class! I was wrong! Please give me back my notebook!"

Teacher Wu Mei put down her teacup and looked at the two girls in front of her, who were sweating profusely with anxiety: "Whose notebook is this?"

Liu Liu glanced at Xiao Bai, who rolled her eyes at her. Liu Liu gritted her teeth and said, "It's mine..."

Unexpectedly, Xiaobai then said, "No! It's mine! Teacher Wu, I lent it to Liuliu!"

Teacher Wu Mei looked at Liu Liu, then at Xiao Bai, picked up the notebook and flipped through it again: "You wrote quite diligently, but reading extracurricular books during class violates classroom discipline. I'll keep this notebook for now. Come to me after school, write a self-criticism, and promise to listen attentively in class from now on, and I'll return it to you."

"Huh?!" Liuliu and Xiaobai exclaimed at the same time.

Liuliu was so anxious she was jumping up and down: "Teacher! This is Chengcheng's storybook, which she wrote with great effort! She spent a long time writing it and only gave it to Xiaobai today. We need to give her feedback and suggestions. If she finds out that the book has been confiscated, she will definitely be sad!"

Xiaobai quickly added, "Teacher, Chengcheng worked so hard to write these stories, please give them back to us. We promise we'll never look at them during class again!"

Seeing their anxious expressions, Teacher Wu Mei's heart softened, but she maintained a serious demeanor: "Don't worry, I won't confiscate the storybooks. Give me your written promises before school ends today, and I'll return the books to you. I'll return the books whenever you finish writing them."

The two girls looked at each other.

Xiao Bai said, "Liuliu, did you hear that? Hurry up and write the guarantee."

Liu Liu rolled her eyes and said, "Teacher Wu means you have to write it too. Xiao Bai, you don't think you don't have to write it, do you?"

Xiao Bai said, "Of course I don't need to write. You're the one reading storybooks in class, not me."

Liuliu said, "But you brought the storybook to school. Without you, how could I read it? Teacher Wu, you agree with me, right?"

Teacher Wu looked at the two of them and said, "You both need to write, go quickly."

Xiao Bai sighed, feeling a strong urge to kill Liu Liu.
