Chapter 3179 The Heartwarming Young Lady
"Auntie, go talk to Grandma, you really have to talk to Grandma."
Robin kept nagging the whole way; judging from her expression, she really didn't want her grandmother to attend her parent-teacher conference.
Xiaobai didn't give a clear answer, after all, she couldn't win against her aunt. If she promised her niece but couldn't keep her promise, wouldn't that disappoint her?
Robin Bai, still uneasy about not getting a clear answer from his aunt, sneaked over to Liu Liu when she arrived and secretly handed her the parent-teacher conference invitation, saying he wanted her to attend.
"Invite me?" Liu Liu was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter. "What kind of parent am I to you?"
She had a mischievous look on her face.
Robin said, "You are my friend."
"Pah! That's it? You think you can fool me into attending your parent-teacher conference? No way."
Liuliu wasn't so easily appeased; she couldn't possibly attend Robin's parent-teacher conference as a "friend."
"So what do you want to be for me?" Robin asked.
Liu Liu looked left and right, and seeing that Xiao Bai was far away, she said with relief, "Call me Mom and I'll go."
Robin may be young, but she's not stupid. She immediately sternly retorted, "You want to be my mom? You're taking advantage of me!!! I'm going to tell my auntie!!"
"Hey, just kidding, hey hey~"
Before Liuliu could explain, Robin rushed to find Xiaobai, giving Liuliu no chance to argue.
Seeing this, Liu Liu exclaimed how unlucky she was to have run into such a silly little idiot like Robin, who would tattle at the slightest disagreement. "We can talk this out!" she thought.
She quickly made her escape and hid.
A little while later, she saw Xiaobai leading Robin looking for her everywhere. Luckily, she had hidden herself.
"Auntie has to go take care of some important business first. You keep an eye on Liuliu and see where she comes from. Call me when you find her," Xiaobai instructed Robin.
"it is good!"
Robin took on the task and, like a dog, wandered around Little Red Pony Academy, her eyes scanning everywhere, not even an ant could escape her notice.
The evening breeze in February gently tapped against the glass windows of Little Red Horse Academy, and the warm lights in the classrooms turned the carpet a honey color.
Xiaobai met up with Xiaomi. Each of them was holding a blue notebook and the other was clutching a thermos full of hot milk. They stood in a corner of the classroom, observing the children playing.
Xiaomi glanced around the classroom while occasionally glancing down at her notebook. She said to Xiaobai, "After the New Year, twenty new students came to Little Red Horse Academy. There are twelve boys and eight girls. They're all here tonight."
Xiao Bai's eyes kept scanning around the classroom. She quickly moved on from familiar faces, but lingered a little longer on the new ones.
Tonight, she and Xiaomi plan to have in-depth conversations with the new children, chat with them, enhance their sense of belonging and security, and also learn about their families and lives.
This is not a required procedure at Little Red Pony Academy, and no one requires them to do it this way.
This was a decision made by the two of them after discussing it themselves, in order to help them adapt to life with the little red horse more quickly.
The two quickly chose their first conversation partner, a little girl with pigtails sitting in the block area.
The little girl is looking down and building a crooked little house with wooden blocks.
Xiao Bai slowed his pace and walked over, squatted down beside her, and asked softly, "Hello, what are you doing?"
The little girl looked up, her eyes like two round, black grapes, and whispered, "I'm building a little house."
Xiaobai glanced at the little house she had built and said, "It's a bit crooked."
The little girl giggled, a little shyly saying, "I don't really know how to build houses yet."
"It's okay, you've done a great job building a small house for the first time. By the way, what's your name? My name is Xiaobai, and her name is Xiaomi."
The little girl tilted her head and looked at Xiaomi, revealing her white teeth. She smiled and said, "I know you. You are the older sisters here. Xiaoxiao told me."
"is it?"
"Yes, by the way, my name is Duoduo. My mom said there are many children here, and she wants me to play with them."
Xiaomi handed over the thermos, which had a little rabbit printed on it: "Duoduo, would you like some hot milk? We can take a look at the little house you built. Is it for your little dolls to live in?"
Duoduo took the cup, her fingertips touching the warm cup, her nervousness lessening: "It's for my little bear. It was a bit homesick last night, and I wanted to build it a nice home."
Xiaobai opened her notebook and wrote down carefully: "Can we add a small window to the little house? Sister Xiaomi is the best at drawing windows, she can draw colored glass for you."
Duoduo nodded vigorously, her eyes shining, and looked at Xiaomi with admiration.
Xiaomi put down her thermos and used colored pens to draw a window on a building block while chatting with Duoduo, asking her about her family situation. Xiaobai quickly took notes.
……
Leaving the building block area, Xiaobai and Xiaomi found a little boy in the reading area flipping through a storybook. He was wearing a blue jacket and holding a copy of "The Adventures of Dinosaurs," completely engrossed in reading it.
Do you like dinosaurs?
Xiao Bai leaned over and pointed to the Tyrannosaurus Rex in the book, asking...
The little boy suddenly looked up, a hint of surprise on his face, and then whispered, "I like Triceratops the most. It has three horns on its head and is very powerful. Even Tyrannosaurus Rex would be afraid of them."
"Wow! Robin likes dinosaurs too!" Xiaomi's eyes lit up. "She has a dinosaur backpack and a piece of clothing with a dinosaur picture on it. It's so cute. You can read dinosaur picture books together."
Yangyang's lips slowly curled up, and she moved the book closer to the two of them: "Haha, I know Robin. Robin found this picture book for me, but her favorite is the plesiosaur because they have long necks..."
Xiaomi quickly discovered that the little boy had the potential to be a chatterbox; he could talk endlessly without being asked.
Xiaobai and Xiaomi didn't even have a chance to ask his name. They spent twice as much time on this little boy as Duoduo did to collect the information they wanted.
It was obviously impossible to collect information on all twenty children in one night. Xiaobai and Xiaomi made a plan to complete the task within three days, so they had time to chat with the children more and get to know them better.
At 9:30 p.m., Xiaobai and Xiaomi finished their information gathering work for the night. The two sat close together at the desk, the warm light of the desk lamp shining on them.
"I think Duoduo is a bit introverted. She doesn't seem very comfortable playing with other children. We need to pay more attention to her," Xiaomi said.
Xiaobai thought about Duoduo's appearance and nodded in agreement: "Could we let Robin go and play with her more often?"
"Okay," Xiaomi nodded in agreement.
"Yangyang is a bit talkative, and he also loves reading picture books. Don't worry about him; he'll make a lot of good friends," Xiaobai said. Yangyang is the little boy who likes Triceratops.
Xiaomi nodded, "Yueyue's family is in dire straits, can we help her?"
Xiao Bai made a special mark on his notebook and said, "I will definitely help if I can, but I suggest we observe first and not rush things."
“That’s right. Let’s observe for a few days and then report back to Sister Jin’er.”
……
Xiaobai and Xiaomi organized and analyzed the information they had gathered that evening before reporting to Principal Huang.
